New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the deaths of seven devotees in a stampede at the Ashok Dham Shiva Temple in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district on the third Monday of the holy month of Sawan.

The President expressed deep sorrow over the incident in a post on X. She said the news of devotees losing their lives in the stampede in Lakhisarai district was extremely distressing. She conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the tragic incident in Lakhisarai. He said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the stampede in Bihar’s Lakhisarai. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families during this difficult time, the Prime Minister said his thoughts and condolences were with them.

Prime Minister Modi also wished a speedy recovery to those injured and said that the local administration was providing all possible assistance to the affected people.
