New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other leaders on Monday extended their warm greetings to the people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami.

Shah wrote on X, “Heartfelt greetings to everyone on the sacred festival of Nag Panchami. May the blessings of Mahadev, the supreme deity, bring happiness, peace, prosperity and good fortune into everyone’s lives.”

Rajnath Singh said India’s cultural traditions have always been rooted in reverence for nature, compassion towards all forms of life and a spirit of coexistence. He said Nag Panchami is a sacred festival that reflects this eternal worldview and conveys the message of protecting nature, maintaining ecological balance and respecting every living being.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin prayed that the auspicious festival would bring renewed energy, positivity and prosperity into everyone’s lives.

Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat shared a traditional verse associated with the worship of Nag Devata:

“Om Bhujangeshaya Vidmahe,

Sarparajaya Dhimahi,

Tanno Nagah Prachodayat.”

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said, “I pray to Mahadev and Nag Devata that this sacred festival brings happiness, peace, prosperity and good health into everyone’s lives.”
