New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in a Tiranga Yatra organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). She said every Delhi resident who took part in the march had transformed Connaught Place into a vibrant display of patriotism.

Describing the scene, Gupta said the sight of the Tricolour being proudly carried by young people, accompanied by the collective chant of “Vande Mataram”, brought alive in the hearts of citizens the sacrifice, dedication and valour of countless heroes who had given everything for the nation.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said Delhi had been the centre of several decisive chapters of India’s freedom struggle and had also witnessed the country’s development journey after Independence. She said the new generation of Delhi was now carrying the Tricolour and marching forward in step with one another, carrying the same spirit of national pride into the future.

She said the memorable Tiranga Yatra was attended by NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal, NDMC officials and a large number of young participants.

The Chief Minister said Independence Day and the associated ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations were observed across the country. She said the celebrations once again demonstrated that the Tricolour is a symbol of India’s honour, dignity and pride, lives in the hearts of its citizens and reflects the nation’s collective sense of pride.

Amid the resounding calls of “Jai Bharat Mata” by citizens, Gupta said a pledge was taken that the vision of a developed India was not merely an aspiration, but a mission to which the entire country, all governments and every citizen would dedicate themselves in “mission mode”.
