
New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): Anticipation is steadily building around ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’, the upcoming sequel to Paresh Rawal’s popular comedy franchise ‘Malamaal Weekly’. Following the addition of new cast members, a major update has now emerged regarding the film’s production. According to reports, producers Subhash Kale and S. Chandraprakash Jain have joined hands to mount the project on a larger scale. The film will be directed by Amit Joshi, with the team planning to present it as a major theatrical comedy entertainer.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the producers have come together with the aim of providing strong production and financial backing to the film. Subhash Kale has experience in technical and production-related work on films such as ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Stree’, while S. Chandraprakash Jain has been associated with the business and distribution sectors for several years. The collaboration is expected to bring together their respective expertise to scale up the film’s production, visual effects (VFX), post-production and distribution.
‘Malamaal Weekly 2’ will feature Paresh Rawal alongside Ritesh Deshmukh, Rajpal Yadav, Raveena Tandon, Parineeti Chopra, Shilpa Shirodkar and Elvish Yadav. Filming is expected to begin by November 2026, while the makers are planning a large-scale theatrical release.
With new faces joining Paresh Rawal’s popular comedy franchise and the sequel being mounted on a bigger production scale, it remains to be seen how effectively ‘Malamaal Weekly 2’ manages to entertain audiences and recreate the comic appeal of the original franchise.
