Lucknow, 16 Aug (HS): Yogi Adityanath pays tribute to

Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi, an 1857 independence warrior, on a daily

basis, recognizing her sacrifice and heroism in the face of British authority.

To celebrate her legacy, the state government named a women's Provincial Armed

Constabulary (PAC) unit in Badaun after her.

Yogi Adityanath installed a large statue of Rani Avantibai Lodhi in Kalu Kuan

Chauraha in Banda district, commemorating her contribution in the First War of

Independence. As part of its efforts to empower women and provide security, the

Uttar Pradesh government formed a special women's PAC battalion in Badaun named

after Rani Avantibai Lodhi.

The Chief Minister frequently associates her remembrance with other courageous

heroes of 1857, such as Uda Devi and Jhalkari Bai, to highlight women's power

and patriotism in India's liberation cause.

In a post on X, he mentioned, “On the birth anniversary of

Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi, the embodiment of courage, valor, and

sacrifice, and a great warrior of the freedom struggle, humble tribute. Your

supreme sacrifice for the motherland and patriotism will continue to inspire us

all for ages to come to remain steadfast on the path of duty.”
