New Delhi, 15 August (H.S.): Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta hoisted the national flag at his official residence on Saturday on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, Gupta paid his respectful tributes to the freedom fighters and national heroes, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding the honour, dignity and sovereignty of the nation.

He also reiterated his commitment to democratic values, national unity and integrity, as well as comprehensive development. Gupta said everyone must contribute with utmost sincerity and dedication towards building a prosperous, strong, peaceful and harmonious nation.
