New Delhi, 14 August (H.S.):
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will undertake a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu on August 16 and 17, during which he will participate in a series of academic, commemorative and literary events in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvarur and Thanjavur.
According to the Vice President's Secretariat, Radhakrishnan will attend the 22nd Convocation of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) at Kattankulathur in Chengalpattu on August 16. He will subsequently participate in a programme at Vani Mahal in T. Nagar, Chennai, marking the first death anniversary of La. Ganesan, former Governor of Nagaland, Manipur and West Bengal.
On the same day, the Vice President will also attend the launch of the book Echoes of a Nationalist Mind at the D.G. Vaishnav College auditorium in Chennai. The book is based on the thoughts and writings of late K. Ramagopalan, founder of the Hindu Munnani.
On August 17, the Vice President will attend the 11th Convocation of the Central University of Tamil Nadu in Tiruvarur. He will then travel to Thanjavur to participate in the valedictory celebrations marking the Silver and Ruby Jubilees of SASTRA Deemed University.
