
Changlang (Arunachal Pradesh), 14 August (HS): An Assam Rifles camp at Longvi under Nampong Police Station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district was targeted by suspected cadres of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) and NSCN (K-YA) early Friday morning.
According to officials, the suspected militants opened fire on the camp at around 3:15 am. Assam Rifles personnel responded immediately, prompting the attackers to retreat into a nearby jungle.
No casualties have been reported in the incident so far. Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding area to trace the suspected militants.
Following the attack, surveillance has been stepped up around the camp and adjoining areas as security forces continue efforts to locate the attackers.-----------
