New Delhi, 14 August (H.S.):
President Droupadi Murmu on Friday inaugurated the Summer Annual Festival 2026 at Amrit Udyan, located within the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex. The garden will remain open to the general public from August 16 to September 15, with visiting hours from 10 am to 6 pm every day. The last entry will be permitted until 5 pm.
According to information released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Amrit Udyan will remain closed every Monday for maintenance. Entry to the garden will be free of charge, but visitors will be required to make an online advance booking. No on-the-spot booking facility will be available. Online bookings for any particular day will close at 10 am on the preceding day.
Special and privileged entry to Amrit Udyan has been arranged for sportspersons on August 29, observed as National Sports Day, and for teachers on September 5 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
Visitors will enter and exit through Gate No. 35, located near North Avenue Road. They will be permitted to carry mobile phones, electronic keys, purses, handbags, water bottles, milk bottles for infants and umbrellas. No other items will be allowed inside the premises.
For visitors’ convenience, drinking water facilities, first-aid centres, rain shelters and toilets will be available along the designated tour route. A free shuttle bus service will also operate between the Central Secretariat Metro Station and the entrance to Amrit Udyan every 30 minutes from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
During their visit, people will be able to explore several attractions across the gardens, including Bal Vatika, Plumeria Garden, Banyan Grove, Bonsai Garden, Babbling Brooks, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden.
