New Delhi, 14 August (H.S.): Gold prices declined in most bullion markets across the country during early trading on Friday, a day ahead of Independence Day, while Chennai witnessed a modest increase in gold prices. Silver prices, meanwhile, remained unchanged.

Except in Chennai, gold prices fell by Rs 1,170 to Rs 1,280 per 10 grams across most major bullion markets. In Chennai, prices rose by Rs 200 to Rs 220 per 10 grams during early trading.

Following these movements, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,53,590 and Rs 1,55,140 per 10 grams in most bullion markets, while 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of Rs 1,40,790 to Rs 1,42,210 per 10 grams.

With silver prices remaining unchanged, the precious metal continued to trade at Rs 2,54,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,740 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,40,940 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,53,590 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,40,790 per 10 grams.

Similarly, the retail price of 24-carat gold in Ahmedabad stood at Rs 1,53,640 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,40,840 per 10 grams.

Among other major markets, 24-carat gold in Chennai was trading at Rs 1,55,140 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,42,210 per 10 grams.

In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,590 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,40,790 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,53,640 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,40,840 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,740 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,40,940 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,53,640 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,40,840 per 10 grams.

In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,740 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,40,940 per 10 grams.

Gold was also trading lower during early hours in the bullion markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. In the capitals of these three states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,590 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,40,790 per 10 grams.
