
Guwahati, 14 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday expressed gratitude to the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, for his message of solidarity and support to Assam as the state recovers from the recent floods.
In a social media post, Sarma said he was deeply touched by the warm words and message of support from the Bhutanese monarch during the difficult period.
The Chief Minister said Assam and Bhutan share a relationship of exceptional warmth, connected by history, nurtured by geography and strengthened by generations of friendship between their people.
On behalf of the people of Assam, Sarma conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the King and the people of Bhutan for standing with Assam in solidarity and friendship during the difficult hour.
He expressed hope that the bond of friendship and fraternity would further strengthen relations between Assam and Bhutan in the years ahead.---------
