
Kolkata, 14 August (H.S.) : Fourteen IPS officers of West Bengal will be honoured with medals for their distinguished service and contribution to policing on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day on Saturday.
Six officers will receive the Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding Contribution, while the remaining officers will be recognised for meritorious service.
The officers selected for the medal for outstanding contribution are Damayanti Sen, Ajay Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Singh, K. Jayaraman, Pranab Kumar and Kunal Aggarwal.
Those being recognised for meritorious contribution include Presidency Range IG Kankar Prasad Barui, Chandannagar Police Commissioner Sunil Kumar Yadav, Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Rathore Amit Kumar Bharat and Kolkata Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Surya Pratap Yadav.
The honour will also be conferred on Purba Medinipur Superintendent of Police Anshuman Saha, Purba Bardhaman Superintendent of Police Pushpa, Murshidabad Police District Superintendent Sachin Makkar and Baruipur Police District Superintendent Arvind Kumar Anand.
The medals will be presented during the Independence Day celebrations in recognition of the officers’ notable contributions, professional commitment and dedication to duty.
