Hooghly, 13 August (H.S.): ‘TB-Free India Day’ was observed at Chinsurah Imambara Sadar Hospital on Thursday to raise awareness about tuberculosis and highlight the importance of timely treatment and proper nutrition for patients. Chinsurah MLA Subir Nag was present at the programme.

As part of a humanitarian initiative, MLA Subir Nag announced that he would take full responsibility for the treatment and balanced nutritional needs of a TB patient.

Nag said that standing by an ailing person on the path to recovery is a true expression of humanity. He emphasised that active participation and greater awareness across all sections of society are essential to achieving the goal of a TB-free India.

The programme highlighted the importance of showing empathy towards TB patients, ensuring regular treatment and providing nutritious food during recovery. People were also urged to come forward and contribute to the efforts aimed at eliminating tuberculosis.

The programme at Chinsurah Imambara Sadar Hospital conveyed a message of building a healthier and more aware society. Emphasis was also laid on continued collective efforts by the administration, healthcare workers and the public to eliminate TB.
