
Jammu, 13 August (H.S.): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has dismissed Vinod Kumar Raina, a Watcher (MTS) in the Department of Wildlife Protection, from service over his involvement in a narcotics case.
Raina, posted in Handwara, Kupwara, was arrested by Police Station Nagrota in connection with FIR No. 329/2021 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act after 300 grams of charas were recovered from his possession.
An inquiry found him guilty of misconduct and recommended his dismissal, noting that his conduct had adversely affected public confidence in government service.
The competent authority, after considering the inquiry report and recommendations, ordered his dismissal under Article 311(2) of the Constitution, with immediate effect, and also disqualified him from future government employment.
