Guwahati, 13 August (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Thursday appealed to people across the state to participate enthusiastically in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and hoist the National Flag at their homes, institutions and establishments.
Addressing a public meeting and cultural programme in Guwahati, Acharya said the Tricolour symbolises India’s pride, dignity, unity and sovereignty. He urged citizens to turn the spirit of “Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar-Ghar Tiranga and Har Man Tiranga” into a collective resolve to build a Viksit Bharat.
The Governor also recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and highlighted the significance of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. Expressing condolences to families affected by the recent Assam floods, he thanked people, governments and organisations across the country for extending relief and support.
“Let the Tricolour rise in every home and every heart,” Acharya said, stressing that the values of courage, unity, discipline and duty represented by the National Flag should guide every citizen.-----------
