Mumbai, 13 Aug (HS): Nashik Police detected a fake

currency note printing unit in Talegaon on Nashik-Tryambakeshwar Road and

recovered counterfeit currency note of lakhs of rupees, printing machine and

other material. The police team arrested five accused from a bungalow, where

the notes were being printed.

Superintendent of Police, Nashik Rural Dr D S Swami

on Thursday confirmed the raid and stated that investigation in the case was in

progress. The real currency notes were dip into a chemical and then placed on

other paper to make the fake notes. The treatment make the counterfeit notes appear

like the genuine ones.

In the racket of circulating Rs 10 lakh real notes

were being given against fake notes worth Rs 30 lakh. Based on information,

police raided the place when such a deal was in progress.

Those arrested have been identified as Amareshwar

Aitha, Dasari Satya, Gokul Date, Hiraman Date and Machhindra Ghandat. Police

got information from the accused that the racket is operational from Nanded to

Telangana. Further investigation is in progress.
