Dhubri (Assam), 13 August (HS): Assam Cabinet Minister and Dhubri district in-charge minister Ashok Singhal on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Dhubri-Gauripur Development Authority as part of a series of government programmes in the district.

Cabinet Minister Ashwini Ray Sarkar, senior officials, local representatives and community members were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Singhal reiterated the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards illegal activities and encroachments. He said illegal encroachments on drainage channels and water outlets would be removed following due procedures to prevent artificial flooding in the district in the future.

Singhal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the government is closely monitoring administrative functioning across the state, with emphasis on transparency, law and order and better governance.

The minister’s visit also included a review of ongoing development and administrative works in Dhubri district.---------
