
Guwahati, 13 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma paid tribute to legendary Manipur freedom fighter Shaheed Tikendrajit Singh on his death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to the anti-British struggle.
In a social media post, Sarma described Tikendrajit Singh as a great hero of Manipur’s freedom movement, a prominent leader of the anti-British resistance and a courageous patriot.
Popularly known as the “Lion of Manipur” during the anti-British movement, Tikendrajit Singh made immense sacrifices for the nation. The Chief Minister said his indomitable courage and bravery inspired many people to actively join the freedom struggle.
Sarma said the valour and sacrifice of Tikendrajit Singh, who laid down his life for the motherland, would continue to remain a source of respect and inspiration for generations to come.---------
