Hooghly, 13 August (H.S.): Responding to an invitation from Tarakeswar MLA Santu Pan, West Bengal BJP state general secretary (organisation) Amitabh Chakraborty visited Tarakeswar Dham on Thursday.

During his visit, Chakraborty offered prayers at the Baba Taraknath Temple and sought the blessings of Lord Taraknath. After offering prayers, he had darshan at the temple before visiting the Shravani Mela premises.

Chakraborty inspected the fairground and interacted with devotees present there. He also enquired about the overall situation and arrangements at the venue.

Tarakeswar witnesses a large influx of devotees every year during the holy month of Shravan. Against this backdrop, Chakraborty’s visit to the Shravani Mela premises drew attention among local residents as well as political circles.

During his visit at the invitation of MLA Santu Pan, the BJP state general secretary (organisation) combined his religious visit with an on-ground assessment of the Shravani Mela and interacted with devotees at the site.
