Guwahati, 13 August (HS): AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has outright rejected the Congress party’s proposal for an alliance in the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election.

Ajmal announced that Rezaul Karim Sarkar will be the AIUDF candidate for the Nagaon by-election. He made it clear that there is no question of forging an alliance with Congress.

“Congress has destroyed India,” Ajmal said, while firmly ruling out any electoral understanding with the party.

Ajmal’s announcement comes amid efforts by Congress to explore political cooperation for the Nagaon by-election.----------
