The rally, organised from Delhi University, saw the participation of more than 1,000 MY Bharat volunteers.

“More than 1,000 MY Bharat volunteers in Delhi have delivered a message of fitness to the nation through the Har Ghar Tiranga cycle rally. For any country to become a developed nation, it is extremely important that its citizens remain healthy,” Mandaviya said.

Emphasising the wider benefits of cycling, the Union minister said, “Cycling is a message of fitness, a solution to pollution and also a solution to the problem of traffic.”

Mandaviya participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga rally along with MY Bharat volunteers as part of a series of programmes being organised around Independence Day.

Earlier on Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had urged citizens to participate enthusiastically in Tiranga Yatras and Tiranga rallies under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. He described the initiative as a symbol of India’s collective strength and linked it to the national resolve to build a developed India.

Shah said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflects the collective strength of the nation and brings citizens together around the goal of building a developed India. He also highlighted the significance of this year’s campaign as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.

The Home Minister urged citizens to participate in Tiranga Yatras, Tiranga rallies and collective singing of Vande Mataram, while also encouraging them to hoist the national flag at their homes and upload selfies with the Tricolour on the Har Ghar Tiranga website.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also called on citizens on August 9 to participate enthusiastically in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and reaffirm their collective commitment to contributing to the development of India.

Modi had said the Tricolour represents the pride of the nation and serves as a constant source of inspiration for every citizen to give their best for the country. He also welcomed the decision to dedicate this year’s campaign to the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign Launched in 2022

Launched in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has evolved into a nationwide tradition associated with Independence Day. Every year, millions of citizens voluntarily hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the campaign.

This year’s celebrations carry added significance as they coincide with the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. Collective singing of the national song will be a key feature of Har Ghar Tiranga programmes being organised across the country.

To help citizens learn the correct tune and rendition of Vande Mataram, the Ministry of Culture has prepared a five-step online tutorial. The tutorial will be made available through a dedicated website as well as the Har Ghar Tiranga portal.

This year, the selfie-with-the-Tricolour feature will also incorporate the lyrics and tune of Vande Mataram. In addition, Har Ghar Tiranga exhibitions will showcase the history of the national song, adding an educational dimension to the nationwide celebrations.
