New Delhi, 12 August (H.S.): Gold prices witnessed a sharp rally in the bullion markets during early trading on Wednesday, with prices rising substantially across most major markets in the country. Except in Chennai, gold prices increased by Rs 1,720 to Rs 1,870 per 10 grams, while Chennai recorded an even steeper rise of Rs 2,020 to Rs 2,210 per 10 grams.

Silver also registered a significant jump, with spot silver prices rising by as much as Rs 10,200 per kilogram in the bullion market.

Following the latest price movement, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,53,830 and Rs 1,54,380 per 10 grams across most major bullion markets. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was quoted in the range of Rs 1,41,010 to Rs 1,41,510 per 10 grams.

With silver prices also witnessing a strong rally, the precious metal was trading at Rs 2,55,100 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,980 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,41,160 per 10 grams.

In Mumbai, 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,53,830 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at Rs 1,41,010 per 10 grams.

In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,53,880 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,41,060 per 10 grams.

Chennai recorded the highest prices among the major markets mentioned, with 24-carat gold selling at Rs 1,54,380 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,41,510 per 10 grams.

In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,830 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,41,010 per 10 grams.

In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,53,880 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,41,060 per 10 grams.

Jaipur recorded prices of Rs 1,53,980 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and Rs 1,41,160 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold.

In Patna, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,880 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,41,060 per 10 grams.

In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,53,980 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,41,160 per 10 grams.

Gold Rises Across Southern and Eastern Markets

Gold also recorded a strong upward movement in the bullion markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha during early trading.

In the capitals of these three states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,830 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,41,010 per 10 grams in all three markets.

The sharp movement in precious-metal prices comes amid heightened activity in the bullion market, with both gold and silver registering substantial gains during the opening phase of Wednesday's trade.
