August (H.S.): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that a series of development

projects now shows Gorakhpur changing. Every road here is being connected to a

four-lane road. Flyovers and overbridges are being constructed on a large

scale. The ongoing development work and the resulting ease of living have given

Gorakhpur a new identity. The government is committed to ensuring ease of

living for every citizen. Chief Minister

Yogi was addressing a public gathering on Tuesday morning after inaugurating

the road widening and strengthening work from the Gorakhpur-Sonauli road to

Madhopur Bandha via Green City.

At the ceremony

held at the ground near the STP in Netaji Subhash Chandra Nagar, the Chief

Minister said that people have been living in this area for a long time. Several

schools are also located here. However, due to the narrow road, people faced

considerable difficulties in commuting. Heavy vehicles were unable to come

here. The construction of this approximately two-kilometer road at a cost of

approximately 70 crore rupees has solved many problems. It has made commuting

easier for people and has also eliminated the problem of waterlogging. He said

that this road is an excellent route for facilitating transportation.

There is no need

to enter the city to go to Varanasi, Lucknow or Nepal: Explaining the

importance of the newly constructed road from Green City to Madhopur Bandha,

the Chief Minister said that with the connectivity of this route, people going

to places like Varanasi, Lucknow, Nepal, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Balrampur

etc. will no longer need to go inside the city. He said that the Hubert

Bandha-Madhopur embankment four-lane is being made via Rajghat. A flyover will

also be constructed at Domingarh. People will take the Domingarh four-lane

bypass from here and go to Kalesar to reach the Lucknow road. Similarly, if one

wants to go towards Nepal, Sonauli, then one will get the facility of going via

Mahesra. The Chief Minister said that many facilities are being provided by the

government for the people of Gorakhpur.

At the road

inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended greetings and

best wishes to all citizens on the occasion of Sawan Shivratri. He also prayed

to Lord Shiva, the Supreme God, for the happiness and prosperity of all citizens.

Yogi inaugurated

the road by cutting the ribbon amidst chanting of Vedic mantras: Before

addressing the public meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the

newly constructed road at the Green City turn on the Gorakhpur-Sonauli Highway

by cutting the ribbon amid chanting of Vedic mantras. He also unveiled the

inauguration plaque on this occasion. After the inauguration, he inspected the

road construction work along the same route and reached the public meeting

venue.

The local citizens

inauguration. After inaugurating the road, while going to the public meeting

place, people at about a dozen places greeted Chief Minister Yogi by cheering

and showering flowers and expressed their gratitude for this gift of

development. Two decorated elephants were also placed on the side of the road

to welcome the Chief Minister.

Along with smooth

traffic, arrangements were also made for drainage: The newly constructed

1.8-kilometer road, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 70 crore,

originates from National Highway 24 (Sonauli, Nautanwa, Gorakhpur) and runs

through Green City and Pataniya to Madhopur Bandha. This road construction

project has provided easy transportation for the residents of Green City and

several other colonies along the route. Additionally, the construction of

drains on both sides of the road has ensured adequate drainage.

“Today, the inauguration of the 2-lane road from

Green City Colony, via Patniya, up to Madhopur Bandh, constructed at a cost of Rs.

70 crore on NH-24 (Sonauli-Nautanwa-Gorakhpur route) in Gorakhpur, was carried

out. I am fully confident that this road will not only make traffic in the city

smooth and convenient but will also make the movement of citizens extremely

easy. Heartiest congratulations to the residents of the district,” mentioned UP

CM in a post on X.
