Imphal, 11 August (HS): Security forces arrested three active cadres linked to different insurgent groups during separate operations over the last 24 hours in Manipur, officials said.

On August 10, a joint team of the CDO Unit, Kakching, and 46 Assam Rifles arrested Yumnam Paremba (27), an active extortionist cadre of the NRFM, from his locality at Wabagai Mayai Leikai in Kakching district, under Hiyanglam Police Station.

In another operation the same day, a joint team of Thoubal CDO and 33 Assam Rifles arrested Puyam Inaocha Singh (42), an active extortionist cadre of the KYKL, from Langathel Laikol Bazar in Thoubal district. The operation was launched in the general area of Langathel based on credible information.

Earlier, security forces arrested Shagolshem Rokeshwar Singh alias Shanta (59), an active cadre of the RPF/PLA, from the Khongjom-Langathel area under Khongjom Police Station in Thoubal district. He is a resident of Langathel Mayai Leikai.

Further investigation into the activities of the arrested cadres is underway.-----------
