Satara, 11 Aug (HS): Four youth were killed when

their speeding car hit a road divider and went on the opposite direction

breaking the divider. The car hit a Eicher truck coming from the opposite

direction. Two others were seriously injured in the accident.

The accident occurred around 1 am on Tuesday near

Shivral village on Pune-Satara Highway. The decided have been identified as

Vedant Waringe, Sonling Thakur, Aditya Garud and Nikhil Raut.

According to the police, the youth were going from

Pune to Satara when the driver lost control of the car and his the road divider

opposite Shivalay Hotel in Shivral village. The impact was so hard that the car

jumped the divider and moved on the other side of the road and hit an Eicher

truck coming from the opposite side.

The bodies of the deceased had to be removed by

cutting open the doors of the car.

The Highway Police rushed to the accident site and

started the rescue operation. The injured were shifted to a hospital for

treatment. The traffic on the highway which was affected due to the accident,

was restored by removing the vehicles with the help of a crane.
