Guwahati, 10 August (HS): A gang of three thieves allegedly broke into a flat at Badrinath Apartment on Beltola Basisthapur 4th Bye Lane in Guwahati and decamped with gold jewellery worth over ₹4 lakh and cash.

According to reports, the incident took place when the residents, the family of Develina Hazarika, were away at their home in Jorhat. The thieves reportedly entered the apartment complex by crossing the boundary wall and broke open the door of Flat 3C on the third floor.

The entire movement of the three masked thieves was captured on CCTV cameras. The incident came to light after the family returned on Monday morning.

Hatigaon Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the theft.----------
