Bhubaneswar, 10 August (H.S.): The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) on Monday handed over its dividend to the Odisha government for the financial year 2023–24. The dividend cheque was formally presented to Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta at his office.

An amount of ₹2,88,37,913 was disbursed to the State Government as its share of the dividend. The event was attended by Cooperation Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and OSWC Managing Director Mihir Prasad Mohanty, along with other senior officials.

According to official sources, the Corporation recorded a total profit of ₹19,22,52,751 during 2023–24. Out of this, 30% of the profit, amounting to ₹5,76,75,826, was declared as dividend. This amount has been equally distributed between its two stakeholders—the Odisha Government and the Central Warehousing Corporation—each receiving ₹2,88,37,913.

Senior officials present at the occasion included Personal Secretary Pitambar Samal, Financial Advisor-cum-Secretary Smitaanjali Swain, Chief General Manager Tripti Kalyan Sethi, and Senior Superintendent Prabhat Kumar Parida.

Established in 1958, the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation has a total storage capacity of 5,21,600 metric tonnes and operates 68 warehouses across all 30 districts of the state. Efficient utilization of its storage infrastructure has enabled the Corporation to maintain consistent profitability and regularly provide dividends to its stakeholders.

For comparison, the Corporation had paid a dividend of ₹81,59,845 to each stakeholder for the financial year 2022–23, and ₹3,40,64,105 each for 2021–22. Similarly, for the financial years 2019–20 and 2020–21, a dividend of ₹4,36,31,251 was paid to each stakeholder.
