Lucknow, 10 August (H.S.): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath has hailed the Kanwar Yatra, held during the holy month of Shravan,
as a tremendous celebration of social peace and national togetherness. He
addressed an open letter to Shiva devotees, with directions for security,
flower showers, and other arrangements along pilgrimage routes.
Message of harmony: According to CM Yogi, the Kanwar Yatra
erases caste, class, language, and area disparities and serves as a live
example of Sanatan cultural equality.
Special security and welcome: The administration has made
complex plans, such as a helicopter flower shower, sophisticated security
procedures, CCTV surveillance, and traffic control along the Kanwar route. Yatri
facilities include sanitation, safe drinking water, medical camps, and
appropriate lighting along the road path. The Chief Minister has requested that
ambulances or school cars be prioritized on the Yatra route, and that
plastic-free and environmentally friendly Kanwad be implemented.
In a post on X, he mentioned, “My esteemed fellow citizens
of the state, In Indian traditions, some journeys are not merely religious
rituals, but also become vibrant classrooms for society, culture, discipline,
and folk life. The Kanwar Yatra undertaken in the month of Shravan is one such
unparalleled tradition, which connects millions of devotees to the thread of
devotion to Lord Shiva every year. The state government is fully committed to
ensuring that every Shiva devotee's journey is completed in a dignified manner.
Through organized camps, pure drinking water, medical assistance, toilet
facilities, lighting arrangements, effective traffic management, and continuous
monitoring from the control room, the journey has been made seamless. I urge
all of you to make the Kanwar Yatra a celebration of social responsibility and
service. Adopt eco-friendly Kanwars and take a pledge for a plastic-free life.
If an ambulance or school vehicle is passing by on the route, give it priority.
Our small act of vigilance can become a great help for someone.”
