Bhubaneswar, 10 August (H.S.): The Ravenshaw University Teachers’ Association (RUTA) on Monday stated that academic activities at Ravenshaw University are continuing without disruption despite the recent campus controversy.

According to RUTA, regular classes are being conducted as scheduled, while both postgraduate admissions and undergraduate spot admissions are progressing smoothly. A member of the association confirmed that faculty members are actively engaged in teaching and academic responsibilities.

“The academic environment at Ravenshaw University remains stable. All professors are taking classes regularly. Postgraduate admissions began last Saturday and are ongoing, while undergraduate spot admissions are also being conducted,” the RUTA representative said.

The association further noted that teachers are continuing their research and project work alongside routine academic duties, ensuring normal functioning across departments.

However, RUTA reiterated its demand for the withdrawal of a letter written by Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi to Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy. The letter reportedly sought action against Dr. Sudarshan Mishra, Head of the Department of Education and Chief Warden of the university, over alleged misconduct during a meeting related to a student protest.

“Our primary demand is the withdrawal of the letter issued by the MLA. We have also placed our concerns before the Vice-Chancellor, and the matter is currently under consideration,” the RUTA member said.

The association added that the Vice-Chancellor has been engaging in discussions with faculty members and has assured that the issue will be resolved amicably through dialogue and mutual understanding.
