
Sribhumi (Assam), 01 August (HS): Assam Police has arrested a woman on charges of drug trafficking and seized 10,000 Yaba tablets valued at around ₹1 crore during an operation in Sribhumi district, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday.
Sharing the development on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said criminals had chosen the wrong business, wrong path and the wrong state. He praised the Sribhumi Police for the successful operation and reaffirmed that Assam Police remains committed to its sustained crackdown on narcotics.
The identity of the arrested woman has not yet been disclosed. Besides the Yaba tablets, police also recovered three mobile phones and other materials wrapped in plastic from her possession.
Police have launched further investigation to trace the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.---------------
