Prayagraj, August 01 (HS): Rajkumar Wankhede has taken over

the charge of Additional General Manager, North Central Railway. Rajkumar

Wankhede is an IRSE Officer of 1990 batch. He did his BE (Civil) from Govt

College of Engineering, Aurangabad and MTech from IIT-Mumbai. He has served

various Divisions and Zonal Railways including RatlamandVadodara Divisions of

Western Railway, Nanded Division of South Central Railway, Construction

organizations of Western Railway, Central Railway and North Central Railway,

RITES, Nagpur Metro, etc in various capacities.

While working in the Divisions, he had impeccable safety

record and he undertook various innovative safety/strengthening works of

tunnels and deep cuttings, speed raising on Rajdhani routes, strategic

decisions for long-term safety and policy initiatives were spearheaded

including removal of encroachments.

He has wide experience in Construction Sector of Western

Railway, Central Railway and North Central Railway. While working in

Construction Sector of Western Railway, he has been instrumental in initiating

and establishing EPC contracts and Consultancy contracts and quick land

acquisition. In construction organization, he constructed Tunnels and large

number of Important/high Bridges in New Line/Doubling/multi-tracking Projects

in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh states. He

has rich experience in asset management of track, bridges, tunnels, bridges,

deep experience of Metro construction as Project Head of Nagpur Metro.

He has proven track record of asset management, capacity building

& enhancement as well as mitigating disasters in a quick response time,

notwithstanding the major calamities in Western Railway and Central Railway. He

is a strong professional bearing high acumen supported with MTech (Structure)

at IIT-Mumbai. With experience of more than 36 years, he has demonstrated

skills in various disciplines and sectors of Railway, Construction, Metro and

also while serving in other Administrative Capacities on Indian Railways.
