Tamulpur (Assam), 01 August (HS): The Amrit Brikshya Andolan programme concluded successfully in Tamulpur on Saturday with a renewed call for environmental conservation through mass tree plantation. Organised by the district administration in collaboration with the Baksa Forest Division, the event was held under the sub-theme Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (A Tree in Mother's Name).

Addressing the gathering, Assam Cabinet Minister and local MLA Biswajit Daimary stressed that tree plantation should not remain the sole responsibility of the Forest Department. He urged every citizen to actively participate in planting and protecting trees to maintain ecological balance.

During the programme, 12 saplings were ceremonially distributed to representatives from various sectors, while around 5,000 saplings were handed over to departments, institutions and participants for plantation across the district. Several public representatives, officials, students and local residents attended the event.-----------
