Auraiya, 09 July (HS): Following good rains in the Auraiya
district of Uttar Pradesh, farmers have begun transplanting paddy. With ample
water and moisture in the fields, paddy transplantation is progressing rapidly
in villages. Farmers and laborers are busy transplanting from morning until
evening, accelerating Kharif season activities.
Following the rains, most farmers have prepared their fields
with tractors and rotavators. Those who already had their rice nurseries ready
have begun transplanting. Groups of men and women can be seen planting rice
seedlings in the fields. Farmers Sandeep, Prem Shankar, Uday, and Ram Ratan say
that the timely rains have given the crop a good start and will also save
additional irrigation costs.
Agriculture department officials have advised farmers to
plant crops according to the weather, maintain proper water levels in their
fields, and use fertilizers in balanced quantities. Agricultural experts
believe that if the monsoon remains active, this year's rice yield is likely to
be better. The rice planting season has begun after the rains, bringing
excitement among farmers. They hope that, with favorable weather, this year's
harvest will be good and their income will also increase.
