New Delhi, 09 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Karwar, located in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the mishap.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister described the accident in Karwar as deeply saddening. He said his thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives during this difficult time and also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

It may be recalled that six people were killed and four others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a cruiser vehicle and a truck near Balgar in the Arabail Ghat section of Yellapur taluk in Uttara Kannada district during the early hours of Thursday.

The accident occurred on the Karwar–Yellapur route, and emergency responders rushed the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
