Guwahati, 09 July (HS): Assam Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora on Thursday said the proposed visit of the Prime Minister of Japan is expected to open new avenues for investment and industrial cooperation in the state.

Describing the proposed visit as a positive development, Bora said the people of Assam are looking forward to the engagement with optimism. He expressed confidence that it would encourage greater Japanese participation in the state's fast-growing industrial sector while also attracting investors from other neighbouring countries. Minister Bora was talking to the media persons after attending the ongoing Assam assembly session.

According to the minister, Assam has been steadily improving its industrial ecosystem through investor-friendly policies and infrastructure development, making it an increasingly preferred destination for both domestic and foreign investments.

Bora further said the proposed visit could strengthen bilateral economic ties, enhance investor confidence and create fresh opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure, technology and trade. He added that higher foreign investment would support economic growth, generate employment and reinforce Assam's emergence as a key industrial hub in Northeast India.----------
