Gold prices traded lower across domestic bullion markets during early trading on Wednesday, with most major cities witnessing a significant decline in rates. Except for Chennai, where prices registered a steeper fall, gold became cheaper by ₹1,250 to ₹1,360 per 10 grams across most bullion markets in the country. Silver prices also recorded a marginal indicative decline of ₹100 per kilogram.
Following the correction, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹145,250 and ₹146,170 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across India. Similarly, 22-carat gold was priced between ₹133,140 and ₹133,990 per 10 grams. Silver, after the marginal decline, was quoted at ₹244,800 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In the national capital, Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,400 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹133,290 per 10 grams.
In the country's financial capital, Mumbai, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹145,250 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹133,140 per 10 grams.
In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹145,300 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹133,190 per 10 grams.
Among other major cities, Chennai recorded the highest prices, with 24-carat gold trading at ₹146,170 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,990 per 10 grams after witnessing a decline of ₹1,600 to ₹1,750 per 10 grams.
In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹145,250 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,140 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,300 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹133,190 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹145,400 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,290 per 10 grams. Patna reported 24-carat gold at ₹145,300 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,190 per 10 grams.
In Lucknow, bullion traders quoted 24-carat gold at ₹145,400 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹133,290 per 10 grams.
Gold prices also declined in the bullion markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. In the state capitals of Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,250 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at ₹133,140 per 10 grams.
The decline in precious metal prices reflects the softer trend witnessed in domestic bullion markets during the opening session of trade.
