The Delhi Police Special Cell has busted two modules linked to the network of Pakistan-based operative Shehzad Bhatti. The dismantled network comprises one alleged terror module and another module involved in the illegal trafficking of firearms. A total of six accused have been arrested during coordinated operations carried out in Delhi and Punjab.
According to the police, the Special Cell's Northern Range conducted a joint operation that led to the exposure of the network. Several pistols and petrol bombs were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
Preliminary investigations are focused on determining the intended use of the seized weapons and explosive materials, as well as identifying the network's links with other states and organisations.
Police officials said the investigation is ongoing, and further raids are being conducted to identify and apprehend other members of the network based on information obtained during the interrogation of the arrested accused.
Investigators are also examining the arms supply chain and the sources of funding behind the network as part of the ongoing probe.
