Guwahati, 05 July (HS): Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika took a swipe at Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi, saying his continuation as the party's state chief is a plus point for the BJP. He was talking to media persons last night after attending a program.
Hazarika said he was not demanding Gogoi's resignation but remarked that it had been a long-standing tradition in the Congress for party presidents to step down after a crushing electoral defeat.
He alleged that Gogoi had broken that tradition by continuing to hold the post despite the party's poor performance, adding that his leadership was politically beneficial to the BJP.-----------
