Guwahati, 05 July (HS): A Forester-II posted in the Jorhat Forest Division has been suspended after a phone conversation, allegedly revealing inappropriate conduct, went viral on social media.

According to sources, the viral audio clip came to the notice of Assam Forest Minister Jayanta Mallabarua, who directed the department to take immediate action. Acting on the minister's instructions, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Jorhat Division issued an order suspending Forester-II Montu Hazarika with immediate effect, pending completion of departmental proceedings.

The Assam Forest Department confirmed the suspension in an official statement issued on Saturday, stating that disciplinary action has been initiated in the matter.----------
