
Visakhapatnam, July 5 (HS): Another fishing boat from Visakhapatnam has been stranded off the Odisha coast after developing an engine failure, leaving its crew adrift in rough sea conditions for the past four days.
The boat had sailed from the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour on June 22 and is currently stranded near Puri after its engine malfunctioned, according to officials.
The fishermen sent a video message to their families informing them about their situation and seeking immediate assistance.
Rescue efforts have been initiated, with the Indian Coast Guard being mobilised to bring the stranded fishermen back safely.
Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu spoke to the Visakhapatnam District Collector, who assured him that necessary rescue measures were being taken.
The MP also interacted with the families of the stranded fishermen, who are residents of Chintapalli village in Pusapatirega mandal of Vizianagaram district, and assured them that all efforts were being made to ensure the safe return of the crew.
