New Delhi, 04 July (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated several development projects in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency and Pitampura, while inspecting key public infrastructure works across the area. She reviewed the progress of projects related to park beautification, modern drainage systems, sewerage management, healthcare services, irrigation infrastructure and technical education, and directed officials to complete all works within the stipulated timelines while maintaining high quality standards.

The Chief Minister began her visit by inaugurating development and beautification works at the BD-FD Park in Pitampura. She also inaugurated 93 newly installed electric poles and a modern lighting system aimed at improving safety and public convenience within the park.

She later inaugurated several projects undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to strengthen stormwater drainage and sewerage infrastructure in the Shalimar Bagh area. These included the construction of a precast drainage system on both sides of the road from DT Mall to CA Block, a modern drainage network from CA Block to the Shalimar Village Chowk underpass, from the Railway Under Bridge (RUB) to GT Karnal Road near the Azadpur Mandi Gate, and from Shalimar Chowk to DA Block.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated an additional sewage pumping station along with its delivery pipeline to provide a permanent solution to the long-standing sewerage issues affecting Shalimar Village, Sahipur Village and nearby localities.

Rekha Gupta said the Delhi Government is developing modern and long-term infrastructure to provide permanent relief to citizens from waterlogging and sewerage-related problems. She instructed officials to ensure the effective operation and regular monitoring of all projects during the monsoon season so that residents do not face inconvenience.

During her visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the NP Block Dispensary, where she reviewed healthcare services, the availability of medicines, medical equipment and other facilities being provided to patients.

She later inspected the Munak Canal at Singhalpur and reviewed water flow, canal maintenance, desilting operations and water management measures with officials of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. She directed the department to ensure regular cleaning and proper conservation of canals and other water sources to strengthen both water supply and environmental sustainability.

The Chief Minister also visited the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) Kasturba Campus in Pitampura, where she reviewed academic and technical facilities, training infrastructure and skill development programmes available to students.

She said the Delhi Government is continuously investing in employment-oriented and modern technical education to equip young people with skills that meet industry requirements and improve their employment opportunities.
