New Delhi, 31 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several other leaders on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to legendary revolutionary and immortal freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh on the occasion of his martyrdom day.

Prime Minister Modi said that Udham Singh's life, marked by extraordinary courage and unwavering resolve, would continue to inspire every generation of Indians to safeguard the dignity and honour of the motherland.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla wrote on X, My humble tributes to revolutionary martyr Sardar Udham Singh on his martyrdom day. Building a strong, harmonious, just and self-reliant India in accordance with the dreams of our freedom fighters is our solemn resolve. His sacrifice and patriotism will continue to inspire us forever.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Udham Singh's supreme sacrifice, made with indomitable courage and an unwavering commitment to India's freedom, remains a glorious chapter in the nation's history. He added that the country would not only remember his sacrifice but would also continue to draw inspiration from his life.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that the life of Shaheed Udham Singh, who embraced the gallows with a smile in the cause of India's freedom, stands as an unparalleled example of patience, determination and patriotism.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari paid his respects, saying, Humble tributes to the great revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh on his death anniversary.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said that Udham Singh's indomitable courage, unwavering patriotism and supreme sacrifice constitute a golden chapter in India's freedom struggle and will continue to ignite the spirit of nationalism and love for the nation in the hearts of every Indian.
