Hyderabad, July 31 (HS): Former BRS MLA from Narsampet and senior party leader Peddi Sudarshan Reddy died at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Friday after undergoing treatment for serious health complications. He was 52.

Reddy represented the Narsampet Assembly constituency from 2018 to 2023. He was admitted to a private hospital in Hanumakonda on July 26 after falling seriously ill at his residence. Doctors treated him for pulmonary embolism and revived him by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He was later shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment, where he succumbed on Friday.

BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep grief over the demise of Sudarshan Reddy, describing him as a close associate and a committed leader of the Telangana movement.

In a statement, Rao recalled Sudarshan Reddy's role in the Telangana statehood movement, particularly in the erstwhile Warangal district, and said he remained dedicated to the party and the cause of Telangana throughout his political career. He termed his death an irreparable loss to the BRS and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao also mourned the former MLA's demise, saying his contribution to the Telangana movement, public life and the party would always be remembered. He expressed condolences to the family and said he would attend the funeral to be held later in the day at Nallebelli village in Narsampet constituency.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also condoled the death of Sudarshan Reddy and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family.

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao expressed grief over the former MLA's demise and offered condolences to the family.

The last rites of Sudarshan Reddy will be held at Nallebelli village in Hanumakonda district later on Friday.
