New Delhi, 31 July (H.S.): On the 12th day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament on Friday, Opposition MPs staged a protest over alleged irregularities in the donations collected at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. During the demonstration, independent MP Pappu Yadav attracted attention by participating in the protest in the role of a priest.

During the protest, Pappu Yadav sat on the ground wearing saffron attire and dressed as a priest, with several symbolic donation boxes placed in front of him. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition MPs symbolically contributed money to the donation boxes.

Standing directly behind Pappu Yadav, several MPs held posters raising questions over the absence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with messages such as Why is Amit Shah missing from Parliament?

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the Monsoon Session, proceedings of both Houses have been repeatedly disrupted for 12 consecutive days due to protests over various issues. Opposition parties have been staging demonstrations against the Narendra Modi-led government on matters including social concerns, student protests and transparency in the management of religious institutions.
