New Delhi, 31 July (H.S.): Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned until Monday following persistent protests by Opposition members over police action against protesting students and the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir.

The Opposition has been continuously targeting the Central Government over the police action against students. Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated confrontations between the Treasury Benches and the Opposition on Friday. Following disruptions in the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha was also adjourned until 11:00 a.m. on August 3 due to continued sloganeering and protests by Opposition members. After one initial adjournment, the House was ultimately adjourned for the remainder of the day.

Earlier in the day, Opposition MPs continued their protests as soon as the Lok Sabha convened, prompting the Chair to adjourn the proceedings until 12:00 noon.

When the House reassembled, it continued to witness disruptions. Amid the uproar, the Lok Sabha passed, without discussion, a Bill seeking to amend the law relating to the registration of births and deaths.
