New Delhi, 31 July (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi unit president Saurabh Bhardwaj on Friday alleged that the Delhi Government’s claims regarding the massive fire incident in Delhi’s Palam area on March 18 have been exposed. He said the investigation report submitted by the District Magistrate (DM) clearly states that several of the nine people who lost their lives in the tragedy could have been saved if the Fire Department’s sky lift had not failed.

Bhardwaj alleged that the government and its ministers repeatedly made false statements to mislead the people of Delhi and conceal the shortcomings of the Fire Department.

In a post on the social media platform X on Friday, the Delhi AAP chief said that his party had been maintaining since the very beginning that the lives of the nine victims of the Palam fire tragedy could have been saved if the fire brigade’s sky lift had functioned properly. He accused the government of continuously covering up the failures of the Fire Department by making misleading statements.

Bhardwaj also expressed disappointment over the delay in the release and public disclosure of the DM’s investigation report, stating that it took nearly six months for the findings to come out, which he described as “extremely shameful.”
