Lucknow, 30 July (HS): State Minister for Khadi and Village Industries, Silk,
Handloom and Textiles, Rakesh Sachan, conducted a detailed review of
departmental schemes at Khadi Bhawan, Dalibagh, on Thursday. The meeting
examined the progress of overall work, including implementation of schemes,
training, budget expenditure, pending judicial cases, and disciplinary
inquiries.
Minister Rakesh Sachan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, the state government is making the khadi, village industries,
handloom, and silk sectors a strong foundation for the rural economy and
employment generation. The benefits of the schemes should reach eligible people
in a timely manner and 100% budget utilization should be ensured.
He directed that targets for all schemes, including the Chief Minister's
Village Industries Employment Scheme, Pandit Deendayal Village Industries
Development Assistance Scheme, quality improvement, and skill training, be met
within the timeframe. Pending cases should be resolved quickly at the bank
level and loans should be made available to eligible beneficiaries promptly,
creating self-employment opportunities for rural youth.
The meeting also reviewed the training center's infrastructure, repairs, hostel
strengthening, rainwater harvesting, security arrangements, and equipment
availability. Minister Sachan directed that all training centers be equipped
with modern facilities and that development work at various centers, including
Basti, be completed expeditiously.
Minister Rakesh Sachan called for special attention to the branding, promotion,
and marketing of Khadi products. He directed surveys of all sales centers,
training institutes, and assets to open new Khadi stores in locations with high
customer bases, and to increase the availability of Khadi products in
universities, technical institutions, medical colleges, and public places.
He stressed the need to promote Khadi through various platforms, including
extensive publicity of upcoming Khadi exhibitions and festivals, and to make it
a mass movement. He also directed the Common Facility Center under construction
in Kushinagar to expedite the purchase and installation of machinery and ensure
its operational completion within the stipulated timeframe.
Minister Sachan directed the timely disposal of pending cases and regular
monitoring of each scheme to provide updated progress to the government. Senior
department officials were present at the meeting. Principal Secretary Anil
Kumar Sagar, Chief Executive Officer Khadi Village Industries Shishir, Special
Secretary Jai Prakash Bharti and other concerned officials were present in the
meeting.
