
Patna, 30 July (H.S.): Voting for the Bankipur Assembly by-election has been proceeding peacefully since Thursday morning. According to the Election Commission, a voter turnout of 27.82 per cent was recorded till 3 pm.
Polling is underway in a peaceful atmosphere at all polling stations. As per the figures released by the Election Commission, 27.82 per cent of voters had exercised their franchise by 3 pm. Voting in the constituency began at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm.
A total of 422 polling stations have been set up for the by-election. As many as 25 candidates are contesting the election and trying their luck at the polls.
The Election Commission has appealed to voters to come to polling stations in large numbers and exercise their constitutional right to vote.
