Lucknow, 30 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath has issued strong directives to guarantee safety, convenience, and

order throughout the Shravan month and Kanwar Yatra. CM Yogi extended his

heartfelt greetings to all Shiva devotees on the first day of Shravan (July 30,

2026), describing this month as an opportunity for restraint and spiritual

practice. The Yogi government has issued the following main guidelines and

action plan:

Security and strict law and order - Shops closed:

Instructions have been given to keep meat and liquor shops completely closed on

designated Kanwar routes.

Strict surveillance: Continuous surveillance is carried out using CCTV, drones,

and helicopters to ensure the safety of the entire journey.

Action Against Rumor Mongers: Those who spread rumours on

social media and on the ground will face severe legal consequences.

Public Facilities for Devotees

Top priority: Following a review conference with senior authorities, CM Yogi

said unequivocally that the comfort, safety, and respect of all devotees should

be prioritized.

Basic Services: Extensive provisions have been made for sanitation, health

care, safe drinking water, food security, and efficient traffic flow on Kanwar

roads.

Inter-state collaboration: The Chief Minister instructed authorities to

maintain greater coordination with neighboring states, such as Haryana and

Uttarakhand, as Kanwar Yatra is no longer restricted to a single region.

Travel laws and guidelines - Kanwar route: For the convenience of Shiva

devotees, Kanwar Yatra is permitted only on approved and marked routes.

DJ guidelines: If you want to play DJ during the Yatra, you must obey the

administration's sound guidelines.

“The sacred month of 'Shravan Maas,' dedicated to the

worship and adoration of Lord Shiva, begins today. This holy period is an

unparalleled opportunity for spiritual elevation, self-restraint, and devotion.

Heartfelt congratulations to all the innocent devotees participating in the

'Kawad Yatra.' May Lord Mahadev, the Supreme Deity, fulfill all your heartfelt

desires and bring the flow of virtue into everyone's lives. Har Har Mahadev,”

mentioned UP CM in a post on X.

“With a complexion white as camphor, the incarnation of

compassion, the essence of the world, adorned with the serpent king as a

garland. Ever residing in the lotus of

the heart,

I bow to Shiva, together with Bhavani. On this sacred occasion of the holy month of

Shravan, today I have been blessed with the supreme fortune of darshan and worship

of Shri Kashi Vishwanath in the sacred city of Kashi, the abode of the Lord of

Lords, the Great God.

May the boundless grace of Lord Bholenath bring welfare to

all creation, may the nation ceaselessly advance on the path of glory, and may

every individual's life be filled with happiness, peace, prosperity, and good

health—this is my prayer. Har-Har Mahadev,” he remarked in another post on X.
