
Imphal, 30 July (HS): Manipur Police and security forces carried out a series of successful operations on July 29, arresting two women allegedly involved in illegal arms trafficking, an accused in an NDPS case and an active woman cadre of the banned KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) outfit.
Police arrested two women, identified as Ruhida Begum (46) and Rohana Begum (18), from Shanta Bazar under Andro Police Station in Imphal East district. The duo was allegedly involved in the illegal procurement, transportation and sale of arms and explosives. A hand grenade, which they had reportedly brought to sell to a prospective buyer, was recovered and seized from their possession.
In another operation, Manipur Police arrested Aditya Dhakal (25), a resident of Panikheti Irang Part-II under Kangpokpi Police Station, from Charhazare near Motbung in Kangpokpi district. He was wanted in connection with a case registered under the NDPS Act at Senapati Police Station.
Meanwhile, security forces also apprehended an active woman cadre of the banned KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) outfit, identified as Luwangthem Ronita Devi alias Toro (24), from the Khurai Heikhrumakhong area under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district. Further investigation into the case is underway.----------
